Holocaust survivor, author and artist Mark Strauss will launch the release of
his latest novel Four Plus Five at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on
Sunday, May 10, 2009 from noon to 6 p.m.Four Plus Five is a narrative of the
drama of WWII Poland as witnessed by a young Jewish boy. Strauss describes his
latest work as "vividly dramatic and unashamedly truthful."

Numerous oil paintings by this Shenandoah Valley artist are displayed at the
Air and Space Museum, the United States Memorial Holocaust Museum, and in
other public spaces and private homes throughout the United States, Great
Britain, Germany, Poland and Ukraine. Strauss's artwork is also published in
Crumbs (Marek Mann, 2006), a novel that he co-wrote (under the pseudonym Marek
Mann) with Maria Martell. Crumbs is a semi-autobiography of Strauss's life as
an oil painter and Holocaust survivor. Strauss frequently speaks at
educational institutions in metropolitan Washington, DC about his personal
experiences during the Nazi occupation of Poland.
