New Creative Diversions for Engineers -- From Bosch Rexroth Website

Tue Jan 8, 2008 11:00am EST
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, Jan 08 (MARKET WIRE) --
www.boschrexroth-us.com) -- "Wanna get away?" Southwest Airlines' clever
adage for their marketing campaign could also apply to the average employee on
a typical mundane day in the workplace.

While hard at work delivering solutions and technologies to the world's
industrial machinery industry, employees at Bosch Rexroth occasionally
findtime for a well-deserved break. Luckily, they don't have to go far to
enjoya few moments of interesting and often hilarious tidbits from around the
globe.

The company's "Creative Diversions" area on the web at
www.boschrexroth-us.com/diversions is designed to inform and entertain visitors
on
a daily basis. Initially set up to celebrate the fun side of the engineering
profession, the site has branched out to include music, videos, and even signs
related to all types of workplace humor.

What began as part of a Bosch corporate promotional contest has turned
intoa hit for the Rexroth audience, including associates, customers and even the
trade media.

"Creative Diversions was our Rexroth USA entry in the contest," said Kevin
Gingerich, director of marketing services in Buchanan, MI. "We concluded that
engineers love humor, and that we could draw many new visitors to our website
if we stopped being serious for just a few minutes. And so far, it's worked."

Although the reach was good from the start, people have been signing up
to receive the Creative Diversions webletter at a high rate. The webmaster
receives
numerous submissions for new diversions every day. For example, visitors can
submit ideas for the "Funniest Viruses" or "Funniest English Translation."

Visitors to the site can also enjoy a laugh by reading the "Top Ten Reasons
NOT to Date an Engineer," and "You Know You're an Engineer If..."

Interested engineers may also read about "Rexroth's Top Ten Projects," which
lists
the company's most ambitious and exciting industrial automation and assembly
technology projects; or they may choose to learn about lean manufacturing, or
other relevant topics by browsing Rexroth's "Top Ten White Papers."
