NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Rob Sjostedt, an engineer and inventor who serves as President and CEO of Bal
Seal Engineering, Inc., has been chosen to represent neuromodulation device
component manufacturers in an industry panel discussion to be held during the
2009 Neurotech Leaders Forum taking place this week in Newport Beach, Calif.
Sjostedt, whose company designs and manufactures the widely used Bal Conn
electrical contact, will participate in a panel discussion focusing on advances
in neurostimulator device design. He will field questions from forum attendees
on trends, developments and techniques impacting neuromodulation, and will also
host a short presentation on Bal Seal`s miniature contact technology.
Calling the panel opportunity a "milestone" for the industry and for his
company, Sjostedt said it "represents a whole new level of involvement" for
suppliers of the many important components that make complex neuromodulation
technology work.
"This is a clear indication that the industry recognizes the valuable
contributions suppliers can make to the improvement and advancement of
neurotechnology. It`s also an excellent opportunity for us to meet with industry
leaders, get firsthand feedback on their needs, and demonstrate how
collaboration can open the door to innovation."
The Neurotech Leaders Forum is being held from October 26-27, 2009 at the
Radisson hotel in Newport Beach, Calif. The two-day event provides a unique
platform for neurotechnology device and neuropharmaceutical industry
professionals to interact with key players and discuss industry growth
strategies.
According to Sjostedt, Bal Seal`s presence at the forum won`t be limited to the
panel discussions and presentation. The company will also host an exhibit
featuring an interactive kiosk that allows attendees to view photorealistic
animated sequences depicting Bal Conn electrical contacts and other products in
industry applications. A market specialist will be on hand to answer technical
questions, he said.
