PA Fish and Boat Commission Launches Search for Executive Director

HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Pennsylvania Fish and
Boat Commission (PFBC) has initiated a nationwide search for a new executive
director.

The executive director serves as the chief executive officer of the PFBC, an
independent administrative commission established in 1866.  The executive
director is selected by and reports to a 10-member commission appointed by the
Governor. The agency is empowered by law to protect and manage the fish and
aquatic habitat of the Commonwealth, to regulate recreational boating on
Commonwealth waters and to protect reptiles, amphibians, and certain
endangered and threatened species.

In addition to directing the operations and activities of the agency, the
executive director serves as the agency's chief law enforcement officer and is
a member of the Environmental Quality Board, the Atlantic States Marine
Fisheries Commission, the Mid-Atlantic States Fisheries Management Council,
and an ex-officio member of the PFBC Boating Advisory Board.

Candidates must have extensive upper level management or policy-making
experience in a fisheries, wildlife, conservation, or natural resources
organization and minimum of a bachelor's degree from a college or university.
Starting salary is established depending upon factors such as the nature,
scope, previous salary and quality of the applicant's experience and
education.
