Westinghouse Appoints Mike Kirst as CR&S Regional Vice President,
Central/Eastern Europe and Russia

BRUSSELS, Belgium, June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Company
has appointed Mike Kirst to the position of Regional Vice President, Customer
Relations and Sales (CR&S) for Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia.
He replaces Bernd Doehnert, who has elected to retire following 30 years of
exemplary service to Westinghouse.

Mr. Kirst joined Westinghouse in 1996 following four years as Director of
the Economic Committee for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels. Most
recently for Westinghouse, he was responsible for the company's nuclear fuel
business initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe, including leading the
effort that resulted earlier this year in the selection of Westinghouse by
Ukraine to provide 25 percent of that country's nuclear fuel requirements.
Previously in his career, Mike represented Westinghouse in Washington D.C. as
Director of International and Government Affairs.
In his new position, Mr. Kirst will be stationed in Nivelles, Belgium. He
will continue to lead the effort to expand nuclear fuel opportunities for
Westinghouse in Central and Eastern Europe while developing and pursuing
business growth for all other Westinghouse products and services, including
new plant opportunities which are becoming increasingly active in the region.
Mr. Kirst will report to Jim Fici, Sr. Vice president, Customer Relations
and Sales, for Westinghouse.
In commenting on Mr. Doehnert's retirement, Mr. Fici said: "Bernd's
contributions to Westinghouse and nuclear power are immense. Among many other
things, he will be fondly remembered for the major role he played in obtaining
European Utility Requirement certification for the Westinghouse AP1000(TM)
nuclear power plant."
Westinghouse, a group company of Toshiba Corporation, is the world's
pioneering nuclear power company and is a leading supplier of nuclear plant
products and technologies to utilities throughout the world. Westinghouse
technology today is the basis for approximately one-half of the world's
operating nuclear plants.
