New -- An Energy Efficient Crawl Space and Foundation System

Fri Jan 25, 2008 10:56am EST
SILER CITY, NC, Jan 25 (MARKET WIRE) --
International Precast, Inc. announces their new insulated energy efficient
crawl space and foundation system. This takes Insulating Concrete Form (ICF)
technology a step further in that it provides an eight-inch thick wall of
concrete and insulation having an R-29 NC rating. On the exterior is a
two-inch concrete layer and on the interior is a four-inch concrete layer, a
two-inch extruded polystyrene insulation layer is sandwiched in between. In
addition, the embedded pressure treated ledger boards, access conduits and
receptacle boxes, bottom weld plates, connection plates, and top weld plates and
studs, create one of the strongest and most energy efficient building systems
on the market -- incredibly environmentally friendly.

This technology keeps the walls at a steady temperature reducing the
potential for dew point condensation. That, coupled with the inert materials
used in the precast process, significantly reduces the threat of mold and
mildew.

Since insufficient insulation and air leakage are the two leading causes
ofenergy waste in most buildings, International Precast technology keeps homes
cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Concrete is a proven durable
building material that can stand up to hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes,
wildfires
and torrential rain. Homes and buildings built with International Precast
materials are left standing after devastating hurricanes and tornadoes that
virtually
destroy entire neighborhoods.

This new technology provides panels that are solid from face to face with no
warm cavities or edible materials to support termites and other unwanted pests.
They also provide both interior and exterior finishes that replace the need for
brick, siding, plaster or dry wall. Maintenance costs are drastically reduced
along with pest control and utility bills. These materials and technology can
be used both in new building and renovation projects.
