Why Women Buy: Industry Experts Reveal What Drives the Purchasing Decisions of
Women During M2W(R)-The Marketing to Women Conference

HARTFORD, Conn., April 8, 2008 /PRNewswire / -- Marketing to women brand
leaders and experts will explore the psychological factors that drive women's
purchasing decisions during the 4th Annual M2W(R)-The Marketing To Women
Conference, May 8-9, 2008, Chicago Cultural Center. With women controlling
over 80% of all consumer purchasing across every brand category, understanding
why women buy is vital to a brand's success.
"Women are not buying products or services, they are buying a lifestyle,"
says Kaira Sturdivant Rouda, president of Real Living, author of Real You
Incorporated and scheduled M2W(R) speaker. "It's more than just knowing what
women are buying, but understanding how her purchasing decisions are often
driven by life stage transitions. For many women, work is a huge part of their
lives. The lines have become blurred. If a brand appeals to her, she's likely
to extend the relationship from her home life to her business life, or vice
versa." Rouda will be leading a presentation on how a woman's real estate
transactions lead to a 200% increase in related consumer purchasing.
"In order for a brand to truly be successful, it must be embraced by
female consumers," says Rick Milenthal, CEO of Engauge and M2W(R) presenter.
"It is imperative that we as marketers learn how to align with the mindsets
that drive women's choices and actions." During M2W(R), Milenthal and his
colleague, Judy Bitterli, chief global development officer for Engauge, will
be sharing their insights into the six major modes that drive female
consumers.
