Examine the Paraformaldehyde Industry in China, Both the World Leader in PF Consumption and Capacity

DUBLIN, Ireland--(Business Wire)--

has announced the addition of the "Production & Market on
Paraformaldehyde in China" report to their offering.

Among the major PF producers, China, Spain and the US, through the
world, China ranks the first in PF production. Meanwhile, China is
also the largest PF consumer. In 2007, the capacity and consumption of
PF in China was 228,000 tonnes and 102,036 tonnes, respectively. It is
estimated that the capacity and consumption of PF in China accounts
for around 50% and 55% of the global total respectively.

Chinese PF industry is greatly subject to the development of its
downstream industry, especially herbicide. The flourishing of
glyphosate, a herbicide, is the largest driving force of the
development of PF in China.

The report mainly focuses on the following problems:

-- What is the production situation of PF in China? including the
major producers, the development trend of production
technology, the pricing of PF in recent years and etc.

-- What changes have taken to China's import and export of PF in
        recent years?

-- What factors are influencing the development of PF?

The report also discloses the production situation of glyphosate,
the largest consumption field of PF in China. At present, there are 2
main production pathways of glyphosate, namely AEA pathway and ITA
pathway. While using PF as the raw material, is only in the production
of glyphosate with the AEA pathway. At present, the output of
glyphosate by AEA pathway in China accounts for 62.5% of the total in
2007. The competition of the two pathways is the major factor
influencing the development of PF. Being the dominant pathway, AEA now
faces challenges of IDA pathway. Can its dominance last in the future?
