CAMP HILL, Pa.--(Business Wire)--Across the nation, scales are going up, up and up. Sixty-six
percent of adults in the United States are overweight or obese, says
the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Even more alarming is the
estimated 17% of children ages 2-19 are overweight. During the month
of January, Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) in partnership with
Lindora Inc., will offer a multi-faceted free weight management
program to help people lose 10% of their body weight and make major
improvements in their health and wellness.

Working with Lindora, America's leading medically supervised
weight control program, Rite Aid has developed valuable weight
management tips and information and the Rite Weight Plan, a safe and
effective step-by-step online weight loss program available at
www.riteaid.com. Customers can visit any Rite Aid store nationwide and
pick up the free materials, and take the first steps towards losing
weight and becoming healthier.

A 12-page comprehensive Healthy Weight Guide provides information
on the growing obesity epidemic and metabolic syndrome, helpful advice
on weight management, a Body Mass Index calculator, tips on how to
create a healthy diet, information on the importance of exercise and,
compliments of Fitness Magazine, an exercise routine to get started.
Fitness, published by Meredith Corp., is a leading women's magazine
targeting women's wellness interests. A Weight Tip Booklet offers
additional information on how to lose weight safely, strategies for
healthy eating when dining out, advice on how to correctly read food
labels and coupon savings on related products.

Customers can also enroll in the Rite Weight Plan, a safe, tested
and practical online weight loss program designed to help you lose ten
percent of your body weight in just ten weeks. The free 10 week weight
loss program includes a step-by-step outline complete with daily and
weekly diet and exercise goals, a daily weight tracker chart to record
success, sample menus and daily motivational emails. Participants who
register for the online weight loss program can also register for
their chance to win $100 per pound lost during the program, up to
$10,000.

"Being overweight increases your risk for over fifty diseases and
conditions including heart disease, diabetes and hypertension," said
John Learish, Rite Aid's senior executive vice president of marketing.
"Through our partnership with Lindora, Rite Aid is able to offer the
programs, resources and support to help people safely reach their
weight loss goals, and ultimately, live healthier, happier lives."

Rite Aid's focus on weight management is part of its yearlong
commitment to patient health and wellness. Each year Rite Aid offers
free information, answers and guidance on health and wellness topics
including allergy awareness, skin care, pain management, diabetes and
heart health.

Rite Aid first partnered with Lindora in 2006, to open the first
in-store health care clinics that offer medically supervised treatment
for weight management, as well as traditional in-store health care
clinic services, including diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses
like ear infections, strep throat, sinus infections, poison ivy and
the flu. In addition, they offer diagnostic screenings for diabetes,
blood pressure, cholesterol, tuberculosis and urinary infections as
well as for cardio metabolic risk factors and body mass index.
Vaccinations, including those for flu, hepatitis, meningitis,
pneumonia and chickenpox, are available as are physical and sports
exams.

Currently, Lindora operates four health clinics in Rite Aid stores
in Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel. In
October 2007, plans for five additional health clinics in Southern
California were announced and are expected to open by Spring 2008.
Additionally, Lindora's line of diet products including a selection of
protein bars, shakes, nutritional supplements, weight loss program
books, instructional DVDs and the newly-introduced "Weight Loss
Starter Kit" are also available at all Southern California Rite Aid
locations.

Established in 1971, Lindora offers a multi-faceted, medically
supervised program combining diet, moderate exercise and motivational
tools to help patients become Lean for Life(R). Emphasizing the
philosophy of "Eat Better, Move More, Stress Less(TM)" the program
helps 4,000 patients each day at its 38 Southern California medical
clinics and thousands more through its online programs and
best-selling books. Lindora is a member of the Partnership for Healthy
