MEDIA ADVISORY: Canadian Stars Hold Day of Action for Canadian TV

Thu Nov 12, 2009 12:00pm EST
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Nov 12 (MARKET WIRE) --
On Monday, November 16 Canadian stars will host a Day of Action for
Canadian TV in the nation's capital with a morning press conference and
afternoon rally to demand more Canadian programming on Canadian TV.

ACTRA's decade-long fight to get more Canadian drama back in prime time
is entering the final round on November 16 as the CRTC starts hearings to
re-write the rules for Canadian TV. Canadian TV drama has all but

(The Border/Battlestar Galactica), Carlo Rota (Little Mosque/24),
Zaib Shaikh (Little Mosque/Metropia), R.H. Thomson (October 1970/
The Englishman's Boy) and Tonya Lee Williams (The Border, The Young
        and the Restless).

140 Promenade du Portage, GATINEAU, QC

ACTRA will appear before the CRTC's policy hearings on November 25,
2009.

English-language recorded media in Canada. ACTRA represents the interests
