CHICAGO, IL, Nov 12 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Toy And Game Inventor Expo (TAGIE) announced it will be honoring Bruce
Lund of Lund and Company Invention, L.L.C. with the 2009 Humanitarian
Award, for his 30 years of service inside and outside the toy industry,
at a gala dinner on Friday, November 20, at Adler Planetarium in Chicago.
The TAGIE Awards "celebrate the creativity, originality and summary of
accomplishments of the creative minds and companies that keep us laughing,
smiling and playing with new and exciting products and inventions,"
according to TAGIE Executive Director, Mary Couzin.
"Bruce Lund has been a constant champion of the toy industry for more than
three decades -- and beyond that, he has supported and been involved in
more than 20 charities in order to make a difference in the lives of
others," Mary commented. "It is only fitting that he receive this award."
Big Brothers Big Sisters
One of Lund's favorite projects is the Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Metropolitan Chicago Annual Holiday Party, in which he and his team have
been involved for more than 20 years. Dressed as Santa and his elves, the
Lund team distribute gifts they've collected from friends and colleagues,
and entertain the children with juggling, magic and storytelling.
Commenting on the Humanitarian Award, Lund said: "I think there must have
been a shortage of candidates for this award! I am honored and humbled.
There are so many who do so much, and I do so little, but am grateful for

Lund will also be giving opening remarks at TAGIE with Razor founder,
Carlton Calvert, on Thursday, November 19. Immediately following TAGIE is
the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTAG), America's largest public toy and
game fair, which runs from November 21-22 at Navy Pier. Lund and Company
is sponsoring the Young Inventor Challenge, which allows students to
submit original game and toy inventions to be judged by popular vote and
