Investment Professionals, Inc. Announces Fourth Award in 'Best Companies to
Work for in Texas' Program

SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading bank broker-dealer Investment
Professionals, Inc. (IPI) today announced that its employees' responses to a
confidential survey resulted in a "Best Companies to Work for in Texas" award
for the fourth time in a row. According to IPI Founder and President Scott
Barnes, "This year's award is particularly gratifying against the backdrop of
our industry's most difficult market environment in decades and reaffirms the
mission we all rally around: doing all we can to help our bank investment
program financial consultants guide people to a more secure financial future."

IPI's historically strong balance sheet relative to its competitors enables it
to capitalize on opportunities and thrive when other firms are struggling.
IPI has been a privately-held bank-broker dealer since it was founded in 1992.
The significant financial investment of IPI principals underlies the
consistent and prudent capital allocation methodology that propels the firm's
growth. IPI maintained a solid 19% average revenue growth from 2006-2008,
notwithstanding the challenging market of 2008. In the 17-year period from
1992-2008, IPI earned an average return on equity of 33%. To date IPI's
growth has been all internally driven - no mergers or acquisitions and no
debt. IPI's insistence on growth without debt but through word-of-mouth and
referrals testifies to its strong management capabilities throughout its
business.

According to Debbee Pundt, Senior Vice President of Internal Affairs, "The
Best Companies survey results give us an opportunity to get frank employee
perspectives on IPI's strengths and weaknesses. We use this feedback to
benchmark against competitors and build an even better workplace - and the
firm-wide teamwork pays off: In seven American Brokerage Consultants' Studies
of Bank Brokerage and Retail Investment Services over 12 years from 1997-2009,
bank executives nationwide cast over 2,200 votes overwhelmingly in favor of
IPI, and in 2008 they voted us the Most Highly Rated Bank Brokerage Firm for
an unprecedented fourth time."

The "Best Companies to Work for in Texas" awards program is a project of TEXAS
MONTHLY, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Texas State Council of
the Society for Human Resource Management (TSC-SHRM) and Best Companies Group.
Employees responded confidentially to approximately 72 statements categorized
in eight areas: Leadership and Planning, Corporate Culture and Communications,
Role Satisfaction, Work Environment, Relationship with Supervisor, Training
and Development, Pay and Benefits and Overall Engagement.

Founded in 1992, IPI is a private, Texas-based investment and insurance
brokerage and asset management firm with $4.2 billion under management and
45,000 clients nationwide. IPI currently manages bank investment programs at
more than 125 financial institutions with assets in the range of $35 million
to over $7 billion. The firm's retail branches are in San Antonio and
Houston, Texas, in The Woodlands and Clear Lake.
