The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Appoints New Chief Nursing Officer

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Children's Hospital of
Philadelphia is pleased to name Kathy Chavanu Gorman, MSN, RN to the position
of Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer. The appointment follows an
extensive national search.

As the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, Gorman will be
responsible for advancing nursing and respiratory practice and leading
increased nursing research all while supporting Children's Hospital's
commitment to outstanding patient care.

Before coming to Children's Hospital, Gorman served as Vice President of
Quality and Clinical Support Services at Children's National Medical Center in
Washington, DC. Prior to working at Children's National, she worked at The
Hospital for Sick Children in Washington, DC and St. Joseph Hospital at
Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. 

Gorman earned both her bachelors and masters of science in nursing from the
University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She has held adjunct
faculty positions at Georgetown University and Howard University; published
articles in leading clinical journals; served in leadership positions within
several national health organizations including The National Association of
Children's Hospitals. Gorman will be residing in Philadelphia area with her
husband and two sons.
