Marathon Oil Corporation Analyst Meeting To Be Available on Company Web Site

HOUSTON, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE:
MRO) announced today that the Company's Analyst Meeting will be held Thursday,
Nov. 19, and will be webcast live, beginning at 8:30 a.m. EST. The webcast
will include the audio of each presentation as well as accompanying slides.
The meeting is expected to last until 12:30 p.m. EST, including a
question-and-answer period, and will be accessible via the Marathon Oil
Corporation Web site.

During the meeting, Marathon's executive leadership will present details about
the Company's business plans and strategies. These presentations and the
answers to questions will include forward-looking information.

Howard J. Thill, vice president, Investor Relations and Public Affairs, will
host the meeting. Participating will be Clarence P. Cazalot, Jr., president
and CEO; Janet F. Clark, executive vice president and CFO; Gary R. Heminger,
executive vice president, Downstream; and David E. Roberts, Jr., executive
vice president, Upstream.

Providing further detail on Upstream operations will be Annell R. Bay, senior
vice president, Worldwide Exploration; James L. Bowzer, regional vice
president, North America Production Operations; Steve D. L. Reynish,
president, Marathon Oil Canada Corporation; Gregory S. Sills, organizational
vice president, Major Projects; and Gretchen H. Watkins, regional vice
president, International Production Operations. Speaking further about the
Downstream business will be Clifford C. Cook, senior vice president, Marathon
Petroleum Company LLC, and Anthony R. Kenney, president, Speedway SuperAmerica
LLC.

Interested parties will be able to access the analyst meeting via Marathon's
Web site at www.marathon.com, by clicking on the 2009 analyst meeting.  In
addition, those listening via the webcast will be able to submit questions
on-line. Questions submitted on-line will be answered as time permits. Replays
of the webcast will be available on the Marathon website through Feb. 19,
2010.
