FiOS1 to Broadcast Two Big New Jersey College Basketball Games This Weekend:
Rutgers Women vs. Stanford, and Monmouth University Men vs. Florida
International University
Available on Verizon FiOS and V CAST Videos, These Games Won't Be Found on

NEWARK, N.J., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Two big New Jersey college basketball
games are on tap this weekend -- and Verizon FiOS1 is the only place to catch
the action.

The first game features exciting men's action with Monmouth University
battling Florida International University -- led by its new coach, Isiah
Thomas -- on Friday (Nov. 13) at 7 p.m.  The game is Thomas' first in the
tri-state region since leaving the Knicks.  The game will be available on
FiOS1 channels in New Jersey and on Long Island.  It will also be available
live on V CAST Videos from Verizon, for Verizon Wireless customers virtually
anywhere around the country.

In the second game, the Rutgers women's basketball team opens its 2009-2010
season against Stanford on Sunday (Nov. 15) at 2 p.m.  The game, to be
broadcast live from the Rutgers Athletic Center in Livingston, N. J., can be
seen on all Verizon's FiOS1 channels as well as on V CAST Videos.

"We're thrilled to kick off this new season with what promises to be exciting
matchups between some of the best teams in the nation," said Michelle Webb,
Verizon's general manager and chief programming officer, FiOS1 local channels.

see a variety of athletic events this winter -- from basketball to lacrosse

In addition to carrying select Rutgers sporting events, FiOS1 is carrying
select women's and men's basketball games featuring Princeton, Hofstra and
George Mason universities.  Many of the games are carried live on the FiOS1
channels.

Other upcoming women's basketball games to be broadcast on FiOS1 are:

    --  Buffalo at Hofstra, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
    --  Boston College at Rutgers, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. *
    --  Stony Brook at Hofstra, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
    --  George Mason at Hofstra, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
    --  Northeastern at Hofstra, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.

    --  Louisville at Rutgers March 1 (live) 7:30 p.m.*
