Safety First - Verizon Wireless Located at Circuit City in Modesto,
California, Hosts Child Safety Day
WHO: Representatives from the Modesto Police Department, Modesto Fire
Department, Verizon Wireless sales team members - Larry Chewning,
Alejandra Cruz, Lindsay Johnson, and Elia Valencia.
WHAT: Verizon Wireless, the only major carrier to offer a 30-day network
"Test Drive" pledge that pays for calls if a customer isn't
satisfied and switches to another carrier, will host a child
safety day at its Modesto Circuit City store. The Modesto Police
and Fire Departments will provide ID Kits for children.
Firefighters will teach "stop, drop and roll" techniques and
conduct tours of their fire apparatus.
Verizon Wireless experts will demonstrate Chaperone service.
Chaperone offers a way for parents to monitor the location of their
child's phone -- through their own handset or online -- and to set
up geographical fences that alert the parent when the child has
left the predetermined area. Experts will also demonstrate how to
enable Amber Alerts through Verizon Wireless Mobile Web.
