MJKL Enterprises, new Hardee's franchisee, to award more than $50,000 to local
charities, individuals
GUADALUPE, Ariz., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Hardee's restaurants are cooking
up a taste of the American summer spirit and serving it to residents and local
charities in five Midwestern and Southern states in a multi-store hometown
tour. The Hardee's Hometown Tour will be visiting 60 Hardee's restaurants in
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee and donating money to
hometown charity groups, organizations and individuals from August 13 thru
August 21.

In celebration of the American summer spirit, Hardee's guests at each tour
stop will receive prizes, food sampling and other fun in the sun items. In
addition, the community restaurant chain will present a check to a local
deserving charity or deserving member in the community.
"We are so thankful to all our guests and the communities who support our
Hardee's locations," said Margaret LeVecke, CMO of MJKL Enterprises Midwest,
LLC. "We believe strongly in being a part of the communities we are fortunate
to serve."
Twelve-year-old Kierston Horton is just one of the individuals selected to
receive a charitable donation. Horton, from Eldorado, IL, was born without a
left heart ventricle and underwent a heart transplant when she was five months
old. On June 19, 2008, she had her second transplant after experiencing heart
failures in the previous months. The donation will help support the family's
medical travel expenditures. Each beneficiary individual or charity of the
tour was personally selected by the LeVecke family, the Hardee's franchisees.
The LeVecke family has been synonymous with philanthropic work in their
home state of Arizona. As the grandchildren of Carl's Jr. Founder, Carl
Karcher, Jason, Margaret and Carl LeVecke and Marissa Briseno learned early on
from their grandfather's encouragement to become involved in the community.
"My grandfather was a pioneer in our industry, a pillar in the community
who touched countless lives through his generosity as a business leader and
philanthropist. My family is committed to continuing the same principles,"
said LeVecke.
The Hardee's Hometown Tour is put on by the Hardee's franchisee group MJKL
Enterprises. The franchisee just acquired the 60 stores the tour will visit.
The tour begins August 13th in Centralia, IL, and concludes on August 21st in
Springfield, IL. Along the way, the eye-catching, decorative tour vehicle will
be making donations to hometown charities in each location for a total of
approximately $50,000. To find out when the Hardee's Hometown Tour comes to
your neighborhood, contact your local Hardee's restaurant.
