SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
This week on the California Lottery's Big Spin show, four
contestants won a total of $185,000. The show aired statewide
Saturday, April 5, 2008. The grand total won this week was $207,500!
Margaret Hobbs, a retired engineer from Los Angeles, was first up
at the Dream Machine. Hobbs, who walked away with $90,000, plans to
buy a car with her prize. She said she will buy a Toyota. Next up was
Albert Been, another retiree from Canyon Country, who won $25,000 and
says, "My family already had plans for a vacation, but now it will be
a bigger vacation!" Lastly, Modesto Garcia, from Tehachapi, the third
retiree, took his turn at the Dream Machine. Garcia won $10,000 and
wants to spend his prize on a trip to Alaska.
Mary "Elkie" Rhodes, yet another retiree also from Los Angeles who
outplayed nine other contestants in Aces High, took home $60,000!
Rhodes plans to take a vacation with her sister to Hawaii and start
college funds for her two grandchildren.
