Cully Joins Baker & Taylor

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Baker & Taylor, the leading
distributor of books, videos, music, games and library services, announced
today that David Cully has joined Baker & Taylor in a newly created position
as Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Baker & Taylor Marketing
Services (BTMS) effective immediately. Cully will report to Arnie Wight, Baker
& Taylor's President. Cully's primary responsibilities include managing all
merchandising and purchasing functions, managing BTMS, and managing Baker &
Taylor's new Specialty Markets Group.

valuable assets to Baker & Taylor," noted Wight. "Most importantly, his
in-depth understanding of the needs of our customers and innovative approaches
to meeting customers' needs will help Baker & Taylor remain at the forefront

    Cully has extensive experience in both the book and retail industry, as
well as in merchandising, marketing and distribution. Before joining Baker &
Taylor, Cully held various management positions at many companies that are
very familiar with Baker & Taylor -- Lechters, Inc. Barnes & Noble, Inc.,
Simon & Schuster, Inc., Waldenbooks, Inc., Putnam/Berkley Publishing Company
and Sher Book Distribution Company. Most recently, Cully was the
CEO/Co-Founder of the Blue Tulip Corporation in New York.
