IIJ to Add Fixed IP Address Feature to IIJ Mobile Access Service

Sun Mar 1, 2009 9:00pm EST
TOKYO, March 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ)
(Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and
comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the March 2009 launch
of IIJ Mobile Service Type ES, a new option for the high-speed mobile data
communications service for corporate customers that allows fixed IP addresses.

In August 2008, IIJ Mobile introduced the Type DS service, which provides a
fixed IP address and is compatible with NTT DOCOMO's FOMA network, and with the
Type ES service, users can obtain a fixed global IP address for use on the
EMOBILE network.

With a fixed global IP address on a mobile access line, communications devices
such as routers can be paired up with the IIJ Mobile Service Type ES to build
more advanced, flexible applications, such as wireless VPNs, than dynamically
assigned global IP addresses. Customers can use the Type ES service as a
corporate WAN connection, which enables the quick development of network nodes
that leverage the benefits of mobile broadband while keeping costs low.

In addition, IIJ Mobile provides Internet access controls, such as terminal
authentication and destination IP address restrictions, to provide a secure
access environment unrivaled by other MVNOs. We will continue to leverage our
rich experience in serving the corporate market to offer high value-added mobile
solutions that combine strong security with the convenience of mobile networks.

IIJ will continue to support mobile broadband corporate networks.

Obama will not rush Afghan troop drawdown

OSLO (Reuters) - There will be no "precipitous drawdown" of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and U.S. troops could still be in the country for years to come, President Barack Obama said on Thursday.
