Ameren Energy Generating Announces Senior Notes Offering

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ameren Energy Generating Company,
a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE), announced today that it is
offering $250 million of its 6.30% Senior Notes, Series I, due 2020. The
transaction is expected to close on November 17, 2009. Ameren Energy
Generating Company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to repay
outstanding short-term debt (consisting of borrowings under its revolving
credit facilities and/or the Ameren Corporation non-state-regulated subsidiary
money pool) incurred to finance capital expenditures and to fund other
corporate requirements and for other general corporate purposes. The joint
book-running managers for the offering are Barclays Capital Inc., Morgan
Stanley & Co. Incorporated, RBS Securities Inc. and Scotia Capital (USA) Inc.
