Beletic to Become Non-Executive Chairman of the Board

SAN FRANCISCO, June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FiberTower Corporation
(Nasdaq: FTWR), a wireless backhaul services provider, announced on June 9th
that effective September 1, 2008, John D. Beletic will move from his current
position as Executive Chairman and employee of the Company to the position of
non-executive Chairman of the Board.  At the time of FiberTower's merger with
First Avenue Networks, Mr. Beletic had committed to serve in the role of
Executive Chairman for a period of two years.
    "With Kurt Van Wagenen now on board as our Chief Executive Officer, and
with the leadership exhibited by the rest of the executive management team, my
role as an employee Chairman is no longer necessary," said Mr. Beletic.  "I
look forward to working with Kurt and the rest of the management team in my
continuing role as Chairman of the Board."
