"This year was especially difficult," said Alex Vieux, Publisher and CEO of
Red Herring. "There were so many great companies producing really innovative
and amazing products that we had a difficult time. We know that this year's
crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to go far."

HomeAway(R) was selected from a pool of more than 1,200 qualified applicants
based on a variety of criteria including financial performance, technology
innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy and integration in
the industry.

Since the company's inception in 2005, HomeAway built a leadership position in
the vacation rental industry in the U.S. and Europe and has taken the category
mainstream, attracting nearly 400,000 property listings and more than 100
million travelers per year to its sites worldwide.

The final list was revealed at the Red Herring 100 Spring Event, held May
11-13 in San Diego, CA.

"We're honored to be part of a list that's so well-known for identifying the
leaders in innovation and technology," says Brian Sharples, HomeAway CEO.

Funded by Austin Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners,
Technology Crossover Ventures and Trident Capital, HomeAway has raised more
than $405 million to date - including $160 million in November 2006 and an
additional $250 million in November 2008 that represented the largest minority
investment of a U.S. Internet company since 2000.
