GigOptix Drives ZTE DWDM Systems

Tue Jul 29, 2008 5:02pm EDT
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
GigOptix, the leading provider of electronic engines for the
optically connected digital world, announce the adoption of one of
their modulator drivers in a DWDM system manufactured by ZTE
Corporation ("ZTE"), a leading global provider of telecommunications
equipment and network solutions.

GigOptix modulator drivers have been adopted by ZTE for use in
their dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems. The
GigOptix part is used to drive both Electro-Absorption (EA) and
Mach-Zehnder modulators, in fiber optic transceivers and line cards
employed in metro and long-haul lightwave communication systems.

This particular driver used by ZTE was chosen for its optimization
of 11.1 Gb/s long-haul EML and LiNBO3 applications. With this
adoption, and the understanding that GigOptix can provide a complete
portfolio of optical products, ZTE has begun a close relationship with
GigOptix.

"With ZTE being one of the most prominent and important
telecommunications companies in the world, we are honored that they
chose the GigOptix modulator driver to use in their innovative
products," states Vivek Rajgarhia, vice president of global sales at
GigOptix. "ZTE has found a 'one stop shop' with GigOptix and we hope
to grow and build our relationship with them to benefit both parties
to the fullest amount."
