SAN FRANCISCO, July 8 /PRNewswire/ --
What: San Francisco will host the cutest infestation, ever. (Or: A Penguin
Parade in San Francisco) (Photo:

    When: July 10, 2008

Description: On July 10, 2008, African blackfooted penguins are taking
over San Francisco's squares and attractions.
They're all dressed up and they have places to go ... You may have noticed
penguins with red backpacks riding the tops of taxis cruising the crowded
streets of San Francisco. They're oversized models of African blackfooted
penguins that call the Monterey Bay Aquarium home.
On July 10, these penguin-clad cabs will gather and wind their way through
the City. The penguin parade will make stops where a penguin-costumed actor
will jump out and greet onlookers, hand out Aquarium tickets, penguin bath
toys and other prizes. The parade will stop at the Ferry Building, Pier 39,
AT&T Park, Ghirardelli Square, Union Square and City Hall.
The parade is part of the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Splash Zone campaign.
The expanded galleries have doubled in size and offer families deep
connections with the ocean world. The Monterey Bay Aquarium experience will
follow you home ... and maybe a penguin taxi will, too.
