Mexico City: AIDS Marchers Demand Testing and Treatment

Thousands of AIDS advocates crowded the streets of Mexico City
today in a multinational march and rally, spearheaded by AIDS
Healthcare Foundation, to demand "Universal AIDS Action Now." In a
spirited march that began at Plaza de la Revolucion and progressed to
the Zocalo Plaza advocates called for increased access to HIV testing
and lifesaving antiretroviral AIDS drugs. Afterwards, key march
leaders traveled to the Nacionale Auditorio where they presented the
'Mexico City Manifesto 2008' to senior IAS conference officials just
prior to the official ceremonies of the XVII International AIDS
Conference, where Mexican President Felipe Calderon is giving the
keynote address.
