A seminar for journalists April 23 in Atlanta
PASADENA, Calif., March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- You are invited to a
FACS seminar on energy issues in the Southeast. Participants will get the
latest information on gasoline pump prices, a look at proposed nuclear power
plants in the area and hear the latest on other energy alternatives. If you
cover energy, business, the environment or government you should be at this
free day long seminar to be held at Cox Enterprises in Atlanta's Perimeter
Center.
"Gas Pump Prices, New Nukes and Alternative Energy" will be presented
Wednesday, April 23, by the Foundation for American Communications (FACS),
with the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), Cox Enterprises, the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Southern Newspaper Publishers Association
(SNPA).
The faculty includes two popular FACS faculty members. Robert Kaufmann, Ph.D.,
Professor in the Center for Energy and Environmental Studies at Boston
University, will update the global oil economy and its impact on the price at
the pump.
Nuclear energy expert James F. Stubbins, Ph.D., of the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign, will focus on changes in the nuclear power plants that are
proposed.
The seminar will conclude with a session on alternative energy with Sam
Shelton, Ph.D., Founding Director, Georgia Tech Strategic Energy Institute.
The seminar includes breakfast and lunch. There is no cost to attend, but
