Thu Apr 17, 2008 10:46pm EDT
KYOTO, Japan, April 17, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Nidec Corporation ("Nidec")
(NYSE:NJ) today announced that one of its subsidiaries, Nidec Motors & Actuators
("NMA"), will build a new plant in Poland to increase its capacity for
automotive motor production.

In December 2006, Nidec acquired the Motors & Actuators business unit of a major
French automotive component manufacturer, Valeo S.A., and subsequently
established Nidec Motors & Actuators ("NMA"). With its Head Office based in
France, NMA currently operates production plants in Germany, Spain, Poland and
Mexico. Anticipating a further increase in demand for automotive motors, NMA now
plans to build in Poland a new plant with sufficient space for future capacity
expansion. In line with this plan, NMA Poland has purchased a 56,800 square
meter parcel in the city of Niepolomice, near Krakow, and entered into the first
stage of its new plant construction. Located in the country's Special Economic
Zone, NMA's new Poland plant has been granted a favorable tax benefit status by
the Ministry of Economy of Polish Government. NMA Poland expects the new plant
will significantly increase its production capacity and double its automotive
motor sales.
