CHICKN)
Upon being notified of the recall by the supplier, Stop & Shop immediately
removed all recalled products from sale. To date, Stop & Shop has received no
reports of illnesses associated with consumption of these products.
Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause flu-like symptoms,
like high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Although healthy
people rarely contract listeriosis, it can be very serious for those who are
pregnant or those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly
and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy. Infected pregnant
women may experience only a mild, flu-like illness, but infections during
pregnancy can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.
Stop & Shop customers who purchased this product should dispose of it
immediately and return to any Stop & Shop store for a full refund. Customers
who consumed this product are advised to consult their healthcare provider.
Customers with questions about the recalled products may phone Customer
Service at (800) 767-7772 Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. or visit Stop &
Shop's website at www.stopandshop.com.
