Houston Astros Hunter Pence Joins b5media's Sports Channel

TORONTO, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- b5media Inc. (www.b5media.com), global new
media giant, is announcing  the launch of Inside the Ballpark
(www.insidetheballpark.com). Inside the Ballpark is a new blog written by
Houston Astros outfielder Hunter Pence. Pence is the first professional
athlete to join b5media's blog network.
    b5media CEO, Jeremy Wright says, "We are very excited to welcome Hunter
Pence to our network and to the Sports Channel, and look very forward to
reading his personal account of the MLB season."  Pence will personally pen a
weekly blog post to detail the latest happenings in his life as an Astro.

Pence is entering his second season with the team after completing a very
successful rookie year. As a rookie, he hit .322 with 17 homeruns and 69 RBIs
for the Astros.
    Pence was born April 13, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas and attended the
University of Texas at Arlington. He was drafted in the second round by the
Astros in 2004. His breakout year in the minor leagues came in 2006 when he
hit 28 homers and had 95 RBIs for the AA Corpus Christi Hooks. Pence made his
major league debut on April 28th, 2007. Despite missing a month with a chipped
bone in his wrist, he finished as one of the best rookies in all of the major
leagues.
