Mardi Gras Hits the Streets of Avon, Ohio, with a Parade of Duct Tape

-Sixth-Annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival proves it still has sticking
power-

AVON, Ohio, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Juggling jesters and marvelous masked
marchers made their way through Avon, Ohio, on the morning of June 20 in a
parade honoring the Sixth-Annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival, held
annually over Father's Day weekend to celebrate all things duct tape. The
parade of more than 20 floats made by local businesses and organizations with
Duck Tape(R) brand duct tape rolled from Avon High School to Veteran's
Memorial Park, ending at the site of this year's festivities.

In the spirit of competition, a panel of judges rated the floats based on
several criteria, including amount of duct tape used and originality. The
panel of judges awarded Spark of Hope's "Frog" float the Tip Top Tape prize of
$1,000.  Five additional winners received $500 prizes.

Throughout the weekend, festivalgoers were invited to partake in duct tape
crafting, Mardi Gras-themed sculptures ranging from masks to jesters, and a
quest for duct tape enthusiasts young and old to discover a hidden message
among the 13 duct tape sculptures. Festivalgoers also had the chance to view
the Top 10 Couples chosen in the Duck Tape brand duct tape Stuck at Prom(R)
Scholarship Contest.
