International Training and Development Company, Landmark Education,
Mischaracterized as Religion
Globally Recognized Corporate Seminars Caught In Crossfire

SAN FRANCISCO, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- While Landmark Education
(http://www.landmarkeducation.com/) is not a party to a lawsuit that was
recently filed with the U.S. District Court, the international training and
development company is inappropriately referenced in the suit as a religion.
The New York-based suit, filed by Scott Glasgow, is claiming sexual
harassment and religious discrimination against the company Growing
Generations and its CEO, Stuart Miller. In addition to the sexual harassment
claim, Glasgow said he felt that not participating in Landmark seminars hurt
his standing with the company, says Art Schreiber, General Counsel to Landmark
Education.
"Any reference to Landmark as religious is not only completely untrue, but
is totally ridiculous," says Schreiber.
Indeed, Raymond Fowler, PhD, the former Chief Executive Officer of the
American Psychological Association, observed the Landmark Forum and stated
that in his personal opinion, "The Landmark Forum is not religious or
cult-like, and I do not see how any reasonable, responsible person could say
that it is."
Dr. Fowler's opinion is echoed by numerous highly regarded authorities and
experts, says Schreiber. For example, according to Bishop Otis Charles: "As a
former Bishop and Dean of the Episcopal Divinity School, I have participated
in The Landmark Forum and, while I have never known the program to deal with
God, worship, divinity or theology, each person's religious preference and
practice is considered his or her private concern and is completely
respected."
Landmark Education has had over 1 million people worldwide -- including
more than 40,000 health professionals and educators -- participate in its
programs. Harris Interactive(R), one of the largest and most respected market
research firms in the world,
(http://www.harrisinteractive.com/news/clientnews.asp) conducted an
independent survey of health professionals and educators who have taken
Landmark's programs, and the results show that an overwhelming 94% agree that
Landmark Education's programs (http://www.landmarkcurriculumforliving.com/)
are professionally conducted and provide great value. Landmark was named one
of the top training and development program providers in the world by
HR.com/James MacNeil.
