                       Cancer and Mental Health
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
The South Asian Heart Center at El Camino Hospital will offer free
heart health assessments during TiECon, the world's largest convention
dedicated to entrepreneurs. The assessments are available to all South
Asians both Friday and Saturday, May 16-17 at the event at the Santa
Clara Convention Center and include a comprehensive lifestyle
questionnaire and a physical exam. On Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to
11 a.m. laboratory blood tests will be available at a nominal fee to
screen for emerging risk factors.

You need not register for TiEcon to participate in the screenings.

In conjunction with Community Day on Sunday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m.
to 11 a.m., the Center will present panels on heart and diabetes,
cancer and mental health, with leading medical experts. Community day
is cosponsored by TiE and India Community Center.

Preregister for all three days at:
www.southasianheartcenter/healthfairs.

South Asians are four times more likely to suffer from heart
disease than the general population, at much earlier ages, often
without the usual symptoms such as high blood pressure and high
cholesterol. The disease affects men and women equally, with 50
percent of heart attacks occurring before 50.

The South Asian Heart Center, the first major non-profit devoted
to combating the growing epidemic of heart disease among people from
Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, has developed a
unique preventative program. Offered at a minimal, subsidized cost,
the Center assesses the risk for heart disease using an advanced
screening process, identifies specific risk factors, and helps
participants manage and mitigate their risk through education,
nutrition counseling, lifestyle recommendations, and case managed
follow-up.
