* ISKANDARIYA - Iraqi security forces detained 70 militants during an operation in Iskandariya last Friday, the U.S. military said in a statement. Iskandariya is 40 km (25 miles) south of Baghdad.
NEAR RAMADI - Six members of the same family, including one woman and three children, were found shot dead in an open area east of Ramadi, 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad, said Colonel Salih Mahdi, a police official in Ramadi.
BAQUBA - A suicide bomber killed two people and wounded seven others after detonating an explosive vest near a convoy carrying the governor of Diyala province, police said. Governor Raad Rasheed was unharmed in the attack in central Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad.
BAGHDAD - The bodies of two people were found with gunshot wounds in different areas of Baghdad on Monday, police said.
BAGHDAD - U.S. forces arrested nine militants during multiple operations in the northern Baghdad district of Adhamiya on Monday and Tuesday, the U.S. military said.
MAHAWEEL - Gunmen killed one woman and wounded another in a drive-by shooting near a market in Mahaweel, 60 km (35 miles) south of Baghdad, on Monday, police said.
