Bolt will make quick return in Europe
BEIJING (Reuters) - Jamaican Olympic champion and 100 meters world record holder Usain Bolt will make a quick return to competition in Europe after the Beijing Games, his manager told Reuters on Monday.
Bolt, who lowered his world record to 9.69 seconds in a stunning 100 meters final on Saturday, will follow up the Games with a 100 meters run at the Zurich golden league meeting on Aug 29, Ricky Simms said in an e-mail.
Bolt, who will run in the 200-metres heats in Beijing on Monday, also has two early September races scheduled, Simms said.
The 21-year-old Jamaican will race over 200 meters at the Lausanne super grand prix on Sept 2 and run a 100 meters at the Brussels golden league meeting on Sept 5.
Bolt is attempting to become the first man since Carl Lewis in 1984 to win the Olympic 100 and 200 meters in the same Games.
He also will run the 4x100 meters for Jamaica before the Olympics conclude on Aug 24.
