Kazakh's TuranAlem says net profit up in 2007

ALMATY, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Unconsolidated net profit at TuranAlem BTAS.KZ, Kazakhstan's second-largest bank, rose to 48.68 billion tenge ($404.5 million) in 2007, the bank said on Friday.

Unaudited results, prepared to international accounting standards, were published through the Kazakh Stock Exchange.

According to Reuters data the bank made a net profit of 39.08 billion tenge in 2006.

The bank said on Friday its total assets increased to 2.6 trillion tenge at the end of 2007 from 1.8 trillion tenge in late 2006. Total capital was 404.3 billion tenge in 2007.
