New measures in Germany linked to terror threat: U.S
BERLIN (Reuters) - An official at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin said on Friday that the decision to tighten security at its facilities in the country was linked to the increased threat of terrorism registered by German authorities.
"As German authorities, including most recently the BKA (federal police) in March, have consistently noted Germany faces an increased threat of terrorism, U.S. government facilities consistently assess their security posture," an embassy official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.
The official said Friday's announcement was related to the increased threat of terrorism, but declined to comment on whether U.S. officials had received a specific new threat.
