German finmin: D.Telekom-Sprint reports are rumour

BERLIN, May 5 (Reuters) - German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck on Monday dismissed as rumour reports that Deutsche Telekom AG (DTEGn.DE) may be interested in buying U.S. mobile operator Sprint Nextel Corp (S.N).

"I think it's a rumour," Steinbrueck told reporters in Berlin.

German magazine Der Spiegel reported that managers at Deutsche Telekom were studying options such as a takeover or merger with Sprint, with no decision having been made. (Reporting by Dave Graham, writing by Paul Carrel)
