In August, the company said it had cut 8,500 jobs out of a planned 8,900.

It had said it would realign its business to boost competitiveness, cut headcount, and invest in infrastructure and acquisitions as it confronts slowing demand.

Michael Dell also told reporters in a news conference on Wednesday that the company would use cash flow to make acquisitions. (Reporting by Fang Yan; Writing by Edmund Klamann; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
