BankThai seeks share suspension pending stake sale

BANGKOK, June 19 (Reuters) - BankThai BT.BK asked the stock exchange on Thursday to suspend its shares pending a result of talks on the sale of a 42 percent stake by an arm of the central bank.

BankThai said it had been informed by the Financial Institutions Development Fund that there had been some progress in the talks, although it did not provide details. It said it expected the sale to be concluded by Friday. ($1=33.39 Baht) (Reporting by Viparat Jantraprap; Editing by Ed Cropley)
