Myanmar needs $243 million for rice seed, paddy: FAO

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Myanmar will need $243 million for rice seed, fertilizer and the rehabilitation of paddy fields in the five cyclone-damaged areas that produce 65 percent of its rice, the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization said on Wednesday.

Citing government estimates, the FAO said another $20 million was needed for the livestock sector after the cyclone devastated the Irrawaddy delta and other areas nearly two weeks ago.
