Indian shares extend fall to 3 pct on day

MUMBAI, March 31 (Reuters) - Indian shares extended losses to 3 percent by mid-morning on Monday, tracking weak Asian markets, and led lower by Infosys Technologies Ltd (INFY.BO) and ICICI Bank Ltd (ICBK.BO).

By 10:58 a.m. or (0528 GMT), the benchmark 30-issue BSE index .BSESN was down 490.91 points at 15,880.38, with 28 components failing.

The broader 50-issue NSE index fell 2.71 percent to 4,807.85.
