World Gold Council to list ETF in Japan, Hong Kong

MUMBAI, March 11 (Reuters) - The World Gold Council is looking to cross-list its New York-listed StreetTRACKS Gold Shares (GLD.P), a gold exchange-traded fund (ETF), in Japan and Hong Kong by September, a senior WGC official said on Tuesday.

"I am pretty confident that in the next two quarters we will be able to cross-list our ETF in Japan and Hong Kong," James Burton, chief executive of the World Gold Council, said.

The World Gold Council held a meeting in Mumbai to appoint a new chairman on Tuesday. Its new chairman will be Greg Wilkins. (Reporting by Ruchira Singh; Editing by Charlotte Cooper)
