Oct 10 (Reuters) - Chipmaker SiRF Technology Holdings Inc SIRF.O said the U.S. International Trade Commission will review, in part, an initial finding by ITC administrative law Judge that certain SiRF products infringed six patents held by Broadcom Corp (BRCM.O).

The commission has determined to review claims on three out of the six patents, the company said in a statement.

The final commission ruling, due to be issued in December 2008, is further subject to a 60-day presidential review period and can then be appealed to the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, SiRF said in a statement.

In August, the judge had ruled SiRF infringed on global positioning system (GPS) patents owned by Global Locate, a unit of Broadcom.

Following this, an ITC judge recommended the halt of imports of all products with SiRF's chips that infringed Broadcom patents.

In a separate statement on Friday, SiRF said it signed a mutual patent non-assertion agreement with Qualcomm Inc (QCOM.O), covering each party's patent portfolio.

Early this week, Broadcom had filed a complaint of patent misuse against rival Qualcomm, alleging Qualcomm gained royalties on "exhausted" patents.

Shares of both SiRF and Broadcom were trading down 4 percent in late morning trade on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Bijoy Koyitty in Bangalore; Editing by Vinu Pilakkott)
