NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - The following financial services industry appointments were announced on Monday. To inform us of other job changes, please e-mail moves@reuters.com.

ALVAREZ & MARSAL

The turnaround and restructuring firm named Curt Smith, who had been president of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, as a senior director with its healthcare practice in Boston.

MORGAN JOSEPH & CO

The investment bank named Adam Steinberg, who had been an equity analyst covering the gaming and leisure industries, as a director in its corporate finance group focusing on gaming and leisure. He has been succeeded by Justin Sebastiano, who had previously been a vice president at Nollenberg Capital Partners following the gaming industry.

GUGGENHEIM PARTNERS LLC

The asset manager hired Alexander Rekeda and Paolo Torti to lead a New York-based team focused on collateralized debt obligations. Both men previously worked at Mizuho Securities USA (8411.T), where Rekeda managed the structured credits products platform and Torti was head of structured credit trading.

LAURUS-VALENS

The investment management firm named Dennis Pollack, most recently part of Credit Suisse's (CSGN.VX) leveraged finance group, as a senior investment analyst.

COHEN & STEERS INC (CNS.N)

The REIT investor named Todd Voigt, previously with real estate investment management firm Cliffwood Partners LLC, as senior vice president and portfolio manager.

GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (GE.N)

The diversified conglomerate named Karan Bhatia, most recently deputy U.S. trade representative in the Office of the United States Trade Representative, as vice president and senior counsel, international law and policy. Bhatia, 39, succeeds Michael Gadbaw, who is retiring from GE after 17 years.

TOSCAFUND

The financial services hedge fund named John McFarlane, former chief executive of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd AFG.AX, as a director. McFarlane, 60, will also become a director of Old Oak Holdings Ltd, a financial services and investment group and Toscafund's parent company.

NORTHERN TRUST (NTRS.O)

The investment manager and global custody services provider named Jon Dunham, most recently national sales and marketing director at Bank of New York Mellon Corp (BK.N), as head of North American asset servicing sales. Dunham reports to Penelope Biggs, head of worldwide asset servicing business development for Northern Trust.

CAPITAL & REGIONAL PLC

The co-investing property asset manager said Hugh Scott-Barrett, most recently its chief financial officer, will take over as chief executive from Martin Barber, its CEO since the company was founded. Barber had announced plans to retire in December.

BLUEMOUNTAIN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

The credit and equity asset manager hired Scott Lessing, formerly chief operating officer for Citi Global Wealth Management Investments (C.N), as head of corporate research. It also hired Derek Smith, formerly a managing director of global credit trading at Deutsche Bank (DBKGn.DE), as a senior portfolio manager.

CREDIT SUISSE (CSGN.VX)

The Swiss bank is hiring eight new staff in an expansion of its commodities and energy business, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters on Monday.

The bank has been building up its commodities activities in a partnership with physical commodity trading group Glencore that was set up in early 2006.

The new hires are across a range of commodities including index products, oil, metals and power. [ID:nL10814702]

BNP PARIBAS SECURITIES (JAPAN) LTD

The company named Adrian Averre head of IRFX Trading. Averre previously worked with Lehman Brothers LEH.N as head of Vanilla Option Trading.

SILVERSTREET CAPITAL

The hedge fund management group appointed Edwin Doeg as director. Doeg has been working for the Skandia Group and as a consultant to ODIN Fonder, a niche Nordic fund management business.

INVESTEC PRIVATE BANK

The firm added five senior advisers to its banking division to meet increased demand for its high-end/super-prime mortgage offering.

Andrew Michael, David Faries, Lindsey Sykes, Matthew Gwynne and Oona Ferst will be based at Investec's London office.

BC PARTNERS

The private equity firm appointed James Rubin and Daniel Selmonosky as senior partners in its New York office, effective May 1.

Rubin and Selmonosky join BC Partners from private equity firm One Equity Partners.

AMP CAPITAL INVESTORS

The fund manager, a unit of Australia's AMP Ltd (AMP.AX), named Kerry Series head of Asia Pacific Equities.

Series was previously investment director, Asian Equities at HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong.

CORDEA NICHANI

The joint venture between UK property fund manager Cordea Savills and Indian movie company Nichani Holdings LLC named Naresh Vetcha director, portfolio management; Bhavin Thakker vice president, investment and acquisitions; Ajay Rathi senior vice president, finance. They will all be based in Bangalore, India. Vetcha was previously with real-estate investor LaSalle Investment Management, Thakker with real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield and Rathi with Indian private equity firm ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Ltd.
