April 18 (Reuters) - Software maker Macrovision Corp MVSN.O said it sees first-quarter revenue of $150 million and $154 million and revised its 2008 revenue outlook to $650 million and $700 million.

The proforma results exclude Gemstar's publishing business and Macrovision's recently sold software and games businesses, the company said in a statement.

The preliminary pro forma results for the first quarter does reflect combined revenue from its acquisition of Gemstar TV Guide International Inc GMST.O, a TV programming guide provider.

"Preliminary pro forma combined first quarter 2008 results reflected success in digital technologies, such as Gemstar-TV Guide's Guidance products, and success in ACP revenues from consumer electronics and network device manufacturers," Macrovision added.
