Nov 10 (Reuters) - NuStar Energy LP (NS.N), which operates oil pipelines, storage facilities and asphalt refineries, said a public offering of its common units was priced at a 4.5 percent discount from the previous day's closing price.

The company's 5 million common unit offering was priced at $52.45 per common unit.

Units of the company were down 4.5 percent at $52.48 Tuesday morning on the New York Stock Exchange.

NuStar joins an inflated list of energy firms that have chosen equity offerings as a means to raise funds to bolster their capital budget and expansion plans.
