Ex-AIG chief Greenberg's deposition postponed -WSJ
July 23 (Reuters) - A deposition of insurer American International Group Inc's (AIG.N) former chief executive Maurice "Hank" Greenberg was postponed because his lawyers have been in talks with the New York attorney general's office, the Wall Street Journal said on Wednesday.
The deposition had been scheduled for Tuesday, the newspaper said, citing a person familiar with the matter.
The Journal said it was not clear how advanced talks were or whether they would lead to a resolution of the civil case.
Last month, NY attorney general Andrew Cuomo had said Greenberg should be deposed as "soon as possible".
Greenberg left AIG in 2005, after allegations of financial misconduct were made against him and the company by then-New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The office of the New York state attorney general did not return a call seeking comment. Greenberg could not immediately be reached for comment. (Reporting by Varsha Tickoo in Bangalore, editing by Will Waterman)
