PHILADELPHIA, July 24 (Reuters) - The following financial services industry appointments were announced on Thursday. To inform us of other job changes, please e-mail moves@thomsonreuters.com.

J.C. FLOWERS & CO LLC

The private equity firm named David Morgan an operating partner and chairman of its Australian operations. Morgan is a director of BHP Billiton and retired as CEO of Westpac Banking Corp in January 2008 following almost nine years in that position.

GAMCO INVESTORS INC

Mutual-fund manager GAMCO named Jeffrey Farber as executive vice president finance/corporate development and chief financial officer. Farber previously worked for Bear Stearns, where he was senior vice president - finance and controller.

UBS (UBSN.VX)

The Swiss bank appointed Boris Sinegubko as General Director of CJSC UBS Securities in Russia, replacing Marlen Manassov. He will also continue in his current role as Deputy Head of Russia/CIS Equities.

SAGENT ADVISORS

Sagent Advisors Inc hired Abid Rizvi as a managing director to help the advisory firm with domestic and international consumer products companies, focusing particularly on the food and beverage sector. Rizvi was previously with Merrill Lynch.

Scott Moses also joined the company as a principal and will head Sagent's food and drug and specialty retail advisory practice. Moses was previously with J.P. Morgan Securities.

Rizvi and Moses are joining the firm's Consumer & Retail Group in New York.

HSBC (HSBA.L) (0005.HK)

The banking group appointed Rafi Ahmed and Anand Krishnamurthy as co-Heads, Global Markets, Middle East and North Africa. Rajiv Shukla was appointed head of Debt Capital Markets, Middle East and North Africa.

DOWNEY FINANCIAL CORP DSL.N

The savings and loan holding company named Thomas Prince as interim chief executive, succeeding Daniel Rosenthal.

It also appointed Michael Bozarth and Gary Brummett as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
