LIGHTYEAR CAPITAL
Lightyear Capital LLC, a New York-based private equity firm focused on financial services investing, said Chris Casciato has joined as a managing director responsible for sourcing and executing investments on behalf of Lightyear's current $850 million Lightyear Fund II, L.P.
UMB BANK
UMB Bank Colorado, a charter bank of UMB Financial (UMBF.O), said Kenneth Buckius joined the company as senior vice president for UMB Corporate Trust.
TAMALPAIS BANK
Tamalpais Bank said current chief executive and president Mark Garwood will assume the role of chairman. The bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Epic Bancorp EPIK.O.
FRANKLIN PORTFOLIO ASSOCIATES
Franklin Portfolio Associates, one of the asset management boutiques within Bank of New York Mellon (BK.N), said Oliver Buckley will become its chief executive officer later this year. Buckley, who has been chief investment officer since January 2006, will succeed John Cone, who will remain chairman of the board of Franklin Portfolio.
GENWORTH FINANCIAL
Genworth Financial (GNW.N) said Scott Lindquist will resign as vice president and controller of the insurer on February 8. Patrick Kelleher has been appointed acting controller and will continue to serve as chief financial officer.
SHELTERWOOD FINANCIAL
Shelterwood Financial Services LLC, a New York-based advisory firm, said Susan Oh has joined the firm as director of investment strategies. Oh will focus on the evaluation, selection and monitoring of hedge funds.
HSBC PRIVATE BANK (UK)
The HSBC Holdings Plc (HSBA.L) affiliate named Alistair Peel head of intermediary sales.
Peel has been with HSBC Investments for the last four years running their corporate and institutional business development team.
ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGERS LTD
The unit of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC appointed Peter Dombeck as a business development manager based in its Frankfurt office.
Dombeck was previously a director at Feri Institutional Advisors GmbH.
MERRILL LYNCH & CO INC MER.N
The global wealth management group of the world's largest brokerage appointed Kari Kulpakko, Lassi Ketola and Johnny Olesen as financial advisers. They will be based in Luxembourg.
GRANT THORNTON
